28thJuly- Thames Path: riverside walking tour

Hiya,

Day 11- Walking tour: discovering the beauty of Oxford

Beautiful sunny day. Perfect for being outdoors and that’s what we did. The only bad thing is that everyone was so tired after a long and hectic day in London.

27th July- A full day in London

Day 10- A Hectic day in London

Howdy everyone,

We had an early start by meeting at 8 to take the 9:01 train to London Paddington ( http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/stations/PAD.html ). In London we went straight to London Eye ( http://www.londoneye.com/)  where we queued for 45 minutes to ride the wheel. After that, we took the underground to Leicester Square where we bought our half-price ticket ( http://www.officiallondontheatre.co.uk/tkts/)  to the evening performance of We Will Rock You. and had lunch. From Leicester Square to Baker Street . Next Stop: Madamme Tussauds ( http://www.madametussauds.com/London/). Because we had bought a combined ticket we didn`t have to queue again and were able to walk straight in!.  At about 5 p.m. we took the tube ( many times! )to Oxford Circus. We shopped a bit and walked to the Dominion Theatre where we would see the musical. WWRU ( http://www.wewillrockyou.co.uk/#/news ) ended at 10:15. From there , we went straight to London Paddington to take the 23:20 train back to Oxford where we arrived at 00:30. Phew, that’s all folks!

Hello everyone,

” Enjoying some time in the Botanic Garden ( http://www.botanic-garden.ox.ac.uk/ ) was one of the amazing things that I have done in Oxford. There, we could see how big is the diversity of plants and we had the opportunity to become close to the nature. I mean, the fresh air and the beauty made us realize how important is preserving the environment”

22nd July- Crown Court

Lawyer-to-be Daniela posing outside the Crown Court on St. Aldates

Hello everybody,

Well, our day started with a visit to Oxford’s Crown Court ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crown_Court ). Unfortunately, we couldn’t take any photos because cameras are not allowed inside the court. We could see two trials, both of which involved driving.

Here’s what future lawyer Daniela said about this day:

” Going to the court was one of my favorite activities because, as a future lawyer, I was able to see how the system works here. I belive it was an interesting activity for the whole group. We had the chance to see how judges and lawyers work here and the differences between Brazilian and British trials. Also, it was a great listening comprehension activity!” ( Daniela Cavalcanti Resende)
